The alarm will only be activated when someone breaks the wire in the Armed Bar whilst attempting to enter your home through the windows or doors.
Should the intruder try to break these bars:
– By cutting it with a hacksaw or bolt cutter, it will immediately activate the alarm;
– By kicking out the bars (which is very difficult because they are flexible), the special brackets will stay behind, the wire will break and the alarm will be activated;
– By using chemicals to weaken the polycarbonate or by melting the bars, the wires will break or still be an “obstacle” that needs to be “removed” before entering;
– By tampering with or bridging the wires, an end of line resister will immediately activate the alarm when the difference in voltage is picked up.
Standard alarm sensors are sensitive to crawling insects, such as spiders that may accidentally activate your alarm if they move close to the sensors, or ants that are attracted to the heat of the sensor. Armed Bars are security bars that have no heat source or sensors that could cause your alarm to be activated by insects.
An option between stainless steel wires or tin-copper wires is used to prevent any false alarms due to corrosion. When installed, the wires are connected using a Scotchlock connector that covers all wire components with silicone -based liquid, offering double protection against corrosion.
Yes. A wireless transmitter can be used to connect your Armed Bars to your alarm system, providing your alarm system is compatible with wireless transmitters.

The Safety bar is made out of a thermoplastic called Polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate is a very clear polymer with exceptionally high levels of impact strength and is one of the toughest transparent sheets available and has a tensile breaking strength of 3 000kg.
The cockpit canopy of the F-22 Raptor jet fighter is made from a piece of high optical quality polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is also used for riot shields, bulletproof windows, and enclosures as seen inside banks or at a drive-through.

The safety bars can be spaced according to the needs required to prevent children from falling from an opening or to keep unwanted animals out. The flexibility of the product is part of its strength and this flexibility allows the force to be spread out over a larger area. It is also difficult to wedge the bars from its attachment due to this characteristic.
The weakest point of any polycarbonate bar installation is the attachment to the window or wall. Care must be taken to fix these bars properly to the structure. An AluRail system has been developed that will improve the fixing strength of the bars.

Cleaning recommendations:
Use Armed Bar Cleaner to clean the transparent polycarbonate bars and to remove any static.
Spray a small amount of Armed Bar Cleaner on a clean microfiber cloth. Rub gently and evenly over the bar. Polish with a dry clean microfiber cloth.
Bars can also be cleaned with a clean soft damp cloth and a non-abrasive mild household deterrent.
